My Platform

Slogan: Good for Glenmora

Citizens of Glenmora deserve a mayoral campaign built on the principles that made the town strong: integrity, hard work, and the quiet strength of people who love their community. After more than 25 years as a neighbor, pastor, and builder, I can bring both a shepherd's heart and a craftsman's hands to build something lasting and meaningful for the citizens of Glenmora.

Glenmora has changed over the years. Families have left. Streets have aged. Houses have deteriorated. The population has drastically dropped to around 1,000 people. But those who remain still believe in this town, and I believe in them. My generational vision is simple: strengthen infrastructure, improve safety, fix what is broken, restore pride, improve the quality of life, prepare for economic growth, and build a better future together.

A successful mayoral campaign should focus on practical, achievable improvements: repairing/maintaining infrastructure, pursuing grants for infrastructure and economic support, boosting law enforcement, addressing abandoned properties, restoring Glenmora's beauty, and building a brand for the town.

For Glenmora, this is a moment to choose renewal, not the noise of politics-as-usual. I'm ready to serve with integrity, humility, and clarity, as well as a commitment to bring people together and build a better future for Glenmora.

Forward with…

…Faith

A source of unity

Life in Glenmora is centered on a Christian values system, regardless of where its citizens attend church, if at all.

Churches matter greatly in this area, and they drive our way of life with many quantified and qualified contributions.

At all costs, this culture must be preserved and perpetuated to ensure the safest, most stable community for every citizen and future generations.

Church and community coalitions

Pastoral relationships, multi-generational family ties through faith, and humane civic outreach matter more to Glenmora citizens than party affiliation.

Churches invest more in the town of Glenmora than any other type of organization.

Calm, steady communication

Demographically, Glenmora is a mix of White (59.8 percent), Black (25.67 percent), and Hispanic (9.2 percent) communities.

This makes a unifying, respectful tone essential.

…Family

Building on generational roots

Family ties to the town help make Glenmora special, but our steep decline in population threatens to erode that foundation.

Positioning Glenmora for a successful future is paramount.

New opportunities born from new ways of thinking are needed to preserve this resource of our town.

Law-abiding leadership

Given Glenmora's modest median income and its deep family-rooted culture, voters in its 463 households value leaders who have served the community directly, shown warmth, and built tangible things.

Town laws must be evenly and fairly enforced with wisdom and temperance.

…Future

Fiscal responsibility

The town must make only those financial obligations that it can meet, then follow through to meet those obligations for paying debts and providing services.

The town must maximize the value of tax dollars and create or open as many sustainable revenue streams as possible.

With low median incomes and high poverty levels, voters want confidence that the town budget will be handled carefully.

The town must avoid repeating previous patterns of mismanagement that caused the state to intervene.

Personal trust and reputation

Most Glenmora citizens recognize the town's dire need to advance along several fronts and want leaders who will spearhead it.

Glenmora belongs to its people, and their voices will guide its future. Leadership begins with listening to its citizens in regular community meetings and fostering cooperation with churches and civic groups.

Glenmora's mayor must be highly visible throughout the community at ballgames, churches, civic meetings, school events, and volunteer days.

The mayor must take specific steps to make the town visible, known, and respected throughout the CENLA region, the state, and even the nation. This includes providing leadership for creation and promotion of a unique brand that can be used indefinitely to build knowledge about it and pride in it.

Infrastructure & Safety

Glenmora voters need reliable oversight of water systems, drainage, street repairs, abandoned properties, safety, and revitalization.

Abandoned properties and deteriorating areas weaken community pride. The mayor must work with property owners, civic groups, and volunteers in a concerted effort to clean up problem sites, improve town appearance, and restore Glenmora's sense of identity and pride.

These issues need immediate attention and action but will involve legal and procedural red-tape that will require persistence by the mayor and patience from citizens.

Laws regarding town infrastructure and citizens’ properties must be enforced fairly and evenly without favoritism or conflicts of interest.

The town must coordinate with state and parish agencies to aggressively pursue available grants that may provide assistance with these issues.

A safe town is the foundation of a strong community. The mayor must help make Glenmora a place where families feel safe in their homes, where children can grow up with confidence, and where crime meets punishment.

“I need your vote to advance this platform for the Town of Glenmora.”
